01 why flutter

One codebase, every platform

Flutter lets one team ship iOS and Android apps from a single codebase, with one feature set and one consistent experience on both. It is a strong fit when you want to reach every platform quickly and keep a single codebase to maintain.

We don’t default to it. Native Swift and Kotlin or cross-platform Flutter — we pick the right tool for your product, not our preference. For Flair HR, Flutter was the right call: an employee app on iOS and Android plus a React admin panel on the web, built by three Flutter engineers and two frontend engineers.

  • One app, both platforms: A unified Flutter application running on iOS and Android with a consistent experience and faster time to market.
  • Works without a connection: Time tracking that lets employees clock in and out, log hours and view schedules, with offline capability.
  • Real workflows: Absence requests with approval workflows and notifications, plus secure document storage and sharing.
  • The web side, too: A React admin dashboard where HR teams manage employees, review requests and generate reports.
  • Backends when you need them: Scalable backends, REST & GraphQL APIs and real-time features with Node.js, TypeScript, Firebase and PostgreSQL.
  • Everything in one place: Company updates, employee profiles and reporting alongside time tracking, absences and documents.

03 questions

Flutter questions, answered.

When is Flutter a better choice than native?

When you want iOS and Android — and often a web companion — to share one feature set and one codebase, as with Flair HR’s employee app. When a product leans heavily on platform-specific capabilities, native Swift and Kotlin can be the better fit. We build both, so the recommendation follows your product, not our preference.

Can you build the admin panel and backend too?

Yes. For Flair we built the React admin panel alongside the Flutter app, and we build scalable backends, REST & GraphQL APIs and real-time features with Node.js, TypeScript, Firebase and PostgreSQL.

Can your Flutter engineers join our existing team?

Yes. Our senior engineers work as an extension of your team — same hours, same tools — with six to eight hours of daily overlap with Western Europe and the US East Coast.

Can a Flutter app work offline?

Yes, when the product needs it. For Flair HR we built time tracking with offline capability, so employees can clock in and out and log their hours from their phones.
